Salute Dr Asim for his services to humanity: Dr Billu

KARACHI: “Speech is the greatest invention of humanity. Speech and hearing is very important for communication because of skills of speech we are able to express ourselves ”, Senator Javed Jabbar said while addressing as Chief Guest at the Commemoration of 10 years by College of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (CSLHS) of Ziauddin University. He congratulated Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor Ziauddin University for leading this college and for their remarkable success on completion of 10 years for the education of such a specialized subject. The College of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences, Ziauddin University (CSLHS), celebrated the 10th year of its foundation and Orientation Ceremony for the new batch yesterday at the Ziauddin University Auditorium, Clifton Campus. Member Sindh Assembly Mehtab Akbar Rashdi congratulated the 6th batch of Ziauddin University and the faculty for completing 10 years. She said “parents don’t realize the difficulties related to hear and speech of their children in the early years”. While talking to the students she said “don’t be discouraged by the dryness of this subject, you should believe in yourself”. “I salute Dr Asim Hussain for his services, fortunately, Dr Asim has been my pupil. I pressed him to open the College of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences (CSLHS) and he provided us the place”, Dr Abdul Ghaffar Billu disclosed this while addressing the audience. He said that several thousand boys and girls don’t have access to speech therapy they need for natural reasons. Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor Ziauddin University informed the gathering that this is the top ranking university so the students must get advantage of this vital institution. He said that around 2 crore students in Pakistan haven’t seen schools even. Earlier, Principal of CSLHS Amna Siddiqui in her welcome address thanked Dr Asim Hussain, the Chancellor of Ziauddin University and Patron of the CSLHS. She disclosed that this was the first College on this subject in Pakistan and the passing out batch is the sixth in series of graduation.
