INVITES ESTABLISHMENT TO OVERCOME ECONOMIC CRISIS

By Nasir Mahmood

KARACHI: Dr Asim Hussain, former petroleum minister and President PPP Karachi Division has urged the people to raise their voice against economic crisis in the country and call for rule of law without discrimination of cast, culture and ethnicity. He was replying to questions by media persons outside the accountability court yesterday. He said if this situation further deteriorates we would be suffering just like Greece and face the sanctions like them. Therefore, we should be united as one nation, we may have internal differences but those difference are not to be made public. Difference of opinion must be for betterment of the country, Asim said. Earlier, the Accountability Court IV allowing a request by Defense Counsel Aamir Raza Naqvi for grant of some time to study the additional documents submitted by NAB prosecutors , adjourned hearing November 06. Dr Asim talking to media said; “My wife’s health is deteriorating for which I request everyone to pray for her recovery. Replying to a question about PTI chief Imran Khan’s apology submitted before the Election Commission Dr Asim said this is the habit of Captain. He is born to apologize and would remain apologetic in future too. He further stated that country’s economy is in deep crisis but this fact is not disclosed to the countrymen. I request Prime Minister to take it seriously by forming sub committees in consultation with ‘establishment’. “I will also request the Chief Justice to take care of the accountability process in the country, it must be even-handed. I remained in custody for two years, without an inquiry and investigations as cases were fabricated against me. The accountability of rulers is some-what different. Despite all we will not run, will faces court, Dr Asim said. The rulers who are facing corruption charges and seizure of accounts should not run the affairs of the country’s economy. They have imposed regulatory duty on food items which has increased the cost of living. PM house and President House should first realise to contain their expenditures on food items then should tell the people to control their spending, Dr Asim Hussain added.
