Islamabad: PPP leader Dr Asim Hussain, a close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari, yesterday once again filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL) so that he may travel abroad for medical treatment. The petition states that Dr.Asim’s name has been removed from ECL before this adding he (Dr.Asim) returned to Pakistan on the direction of the court within one month. The petition added that Dr. Asim again has to go abroad for medical treatment as “he is fighting “a number of health conditions” and highlights the ‘urgency’ with which he needs medical care.” The petitioner said that “he has submitted application to interior ministry for the removal of name from ECL but it has not given any reply yet” The counsel of the Dr.Asim Hussain took stance in the petition that Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar are also facing heinous criminal lawsuits but their names were not included in ECL. The counsel added that his client will be paralyzed if he is not treated in time adding the court should issue order for removal of Dr.Asim name form ECL.
