Karachi: Pakistan Peoples’ Party senior leader and former federal minister for Petroleum Resources, Dr Asim Hussain has lauded the landmark verdict of Supreme Court on suo motu notice pertaining to the Deputy Speakers Ruling on no-trust motion.
Senior PPP leader also congratulated the larger bench of Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial for rightly safeguarding the sanctity of the Constitution and for restoring public confidence in the greater interest of the country. Dr Asim hoped that following to the momentous verdict of the country’s top court, now opposition leaders will work more vigorously for the masses and for the revitalisation of the economy which is in doldrums for long time. PPP leader also said that by declaring Dy Speaker’s ruling null and void, the Supreme Court has set a paradigm for all that under any circumstances, independence of the judiciary, and sovereignty of the state and the Constitution of the country stands above all and cannot be compromised.
He added that in the light of the court orders, a transparent inquiry should also be initiated by forming a JIT to probe the letter-gate.
