DR ASIM SHIFTED TO ICU

KARACHI: Dr Asim Hussain’s health dererirated later yesterday and he was admitted to the ICU of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), according to informed sources. Earlier in the afternoon yesterday, Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari visited Jinnah hospital and inquired about health of Dr. Asim Hussain. The former President arrived at NICVD of the Jinnah hospital where Dr. Asim is admitted for last few days. He is under treatment for heart ailment. Zardari inquired about health of Asim Hussain, who is also President PPP Karachi Division, and held a one-on-one meeting with him during which various issues relating to the cases on former petroleum minister were discussed. He also discussed about the health of Dr Asim with Dr Nadeem Qamar. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and prominent lawyer Farooq H Naek were also present in the meeting. Issues of basic education to higher education, especially the water crisis in the province of Sindh also came under discussion during the meeting. A day after his arrival in Karachi, Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday summoned senior lawyers to discuss Dr Asim Hussain’s case. Expressing dissatisfaction over the performance of lawyers pleading the case, the former president summoned Aitzaz Ahsan, Latif Khosa and Farooq H Naek to find ways to take Dr Asim Hussain out of the whirlpool of cases.
