DR ASIM’S EXEMPTION APPLICATION GRANTED

KARACHI: The Accountability Court IV yesterday accepted the leave application of Dr Asim Hussain in NAB reference No.19/2016 of JJVL (Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited) case. Former petroleum minister Dr Asim in his capacity as the Chairman Sindh Higher Education Commission has gone to Islamabad for attending Higher Education Commission meeting. Co-accused Basharat Mirza, Zuhair Siddiqui, Khalid Rehman and Iqbal Z. Ahmed appeared before the court. Next date for the hearing is fixed for 28 October. During the hearing co-accused Iqbal Z Ahmed’s defence lawyer completed his arguments for his acquittal and rejection of the reference. During next hearing NAB prosecutor will present his arguments opposing the acquittal application.
