Another twist in Dr Asim’s case

KARACHI: Another twist was witness yesterday in Dr. Asim Hussain’s case when it was reported that the investigation officers (IOs) involved in probing into high profile cases, such as of Dr. Asim and land grabbing in particular, are under tremendous pressure and passing through mental agony since they had received the information that they are on the target of killers.
Informed sources disclosed to daily National Courier that a secret agency has written a letter to the Sindh Home Department, intimating them that those National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officers who are investigating the high profile corruption cases in Sindh may be targeted by the miscreants.

The motive of the news is still unclear and it appears that something brewing up behind the screen which may come into focus soon.

The letter also stated that the NAB officers especially involved in investigating Dr Asim and land grabbing cases were highly vulnerable to the target killing.
The secret agency suggested the Home Department to share this information with all concerned for necessary security arrangements as deemed appropriate.
It may be mentioned here that Dr. Asim Hussain is a well-known physician who is active in the fields of public health and education and serving the humanity since long and is still behind bars despite the fact that nothing has been proved against him so far even after eight months of detention.
