KARACHI: Former petroleum minister and leader of PPP Dr Asim Hussain has expressed deep grief and sorrow on the demise of renowned journalist and founding editor of Daily Quami Akhbar, Ilyas Shakir.

In a statement yesterday, he paid rich tributes to Ilyas Shakir’s contribution for the promotion of journalism, and said he would always be remembered.  He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
