Dr Asim expresses full confidence on judiciary

Karachi – August 13, 2016: Former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain has expressed his full confidence on the courts. He was appearing before the NAB court yesterday in JJVL case where the hearing was adjourned for 27th August. While talking to media members outside the NAB Court he said that he has full confidence on the courts and he will file his bail application before the next date.

“I am fully confident to get justice from the courts and get released on merit. We are celebrating our 69th Independence Day therefore; the national institutions must become independent,” Asim said.

Replying to a question Dr Asim said that the Pakistan Peoples’ Party was always victimized. “I am a political prisoner since last one year under a democratic government. I don’t need any help or recommendations from the outside to get released. I will fight the cases at my own against the false charges framed on me to explore the guilty.”

“My medical treatment has been stopped; what I can say? But I would not exploit anyone else, I have decided to sacrifice myself,” he added.

Replying to a question about the press conference addressed by interior minister Chaudhry Nisar and his remarks about Dr Asim he said, “This is the caliber of Ch Nisar, his previous statements are already before you. I won’t comment on it.”
