KARACHI: The National Accountability Court (NAB) has expressed concern over the health and deteriorating condition of former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain. The court ordered in yesterday’s hearing to continue his medical care in JPMC. The court also ordered the Director JPMC Dr Anis Bhatti to appear on August 22 with reference to the medical board constituted for Dr Asim. Earlier, Dr Raza A. Rizvi appeared before the court. It may be mentioned here that on the previous hearing of Dr Asim’s case the court had recorded the statement of Dr Raza, Professor of Neurosurgery, JPMC, and a representative of the medical board constituted for Dr Asim. He had disclosed that no facility backbone surgery is available at JPMC. The court was amazed to hear this statement and asked why such a big hospital was without a critical facility. The court not only ordered to arrange this facility in Jinnah hospital but also directed to bring with him the Medical Board’s Head on next date of hearing. The NAB court has also ordered the prosecution witness and section officer of the Revenue Board Amaduddin to produce the certified copies of Supreme Court’s order with reference to the case initiated by NAB against former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain. The witness had presented the ordinary photo copies of the said order while the defence counsel raised objection and said the PW must submit certified copies.
