KARACHI: Former Minister for Petroleum and senior leader of Pakistan Peoples’ Party Dr. Asim Hussain held meeting with a delegation of District Central Administration comprising Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioners, Municipal Commissioner DMC and Director (Taxes) DMC. Discussion covered current state of affairs and development works in District Central and way forward. Dr. Asim directed all officers to ensure utmost level of efficiency and honestly make efforts to provide maximum relief to public.
Proceeding included to start cleanliness drive, repair of broken main holes on drainage lines, widening and repairs of dilapidated roads and nullah by ending encroachment on both sides, clearing of footpaths for passer byes, smooth flow of traffic in rush hours on roads before iftar timings during month of Ramadhan.
Issues of illegal charged parking on busy roads and lanes, undue and unannounced load shedding in holy month of Ramadhan, overcharging of prices on daily use items by vendors in markets were also highlighted. Dr. Asim Hussain expressed his satisfaction over working in District and asked inspectors to visit certain sensitive areas on daily basis for resolution of public complaints.
