Dr Asim’s wife ill; family requests for prayers

KARACHI: The only political prisoner in the current ‘democratic government,’ Dr Asim Hussain yesterday morning almost fainted when he heard about the illness of his wife Dr Zareen who is currently in London and fighting cancer. A number of doctors were called in emergency who opined that Dr Asim is under tension, strain and severe stress since he heard about the health condition of his wife who is being treated in a hospital in London these days. Dr Asim is also facing spinal cord problem and the doctors have advised him an MRI . Yesterday the health condition of Dr Zareen worsened. Her family members have requested to all well wishers to pray for her early recovery. The family members regretted that unlike our Prime Minister who is with his entire family including his kiths & kins by his bed side, but the only political prisoner of present democratic government Dr Asim is unable even to take care of his wife. It may be mentioned here that Dr Asim is already admitted in JPMC where he is said to be suffering from sleeping disorder, hypertension in custody. A panel of doctors has already declared his medical condition as unstable while he is facing severe pain in spinal cord. Doctors’ panel has advised MRI tests at the earliest. Dr Asim Hussain has also appealed to all well wishers and family friends to pray for recovery of Dr Zareen. In September last year when Dr Asim was shifted for treatment to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, his wife, Dr Zareen Hussain, had moved the SHC stating that her husband’s condition was far from satisfactory and that he should not be moved from the hospital until he was fully fit.
