DR ASIM APPEARS BEFORE SUPREME COURT

KARACHI: Former petroleum minister and leader of Pakistan Peoples’ Party Dr Asim Hussain said he has made useful suggestions about regulating private medical colleges, universities. He was talking to media outside Supreme Court’s Karachi registry in the case of higher fees being charged by private medical universities.
Dr Asim informed the media that Chief Justice of Pakistan has appointed a chartered accountant firm to evaluate the issue of excessive fee structure in medical universities of the country.
The recommendations of the chartered accountant firm would be final and binding on all or shut down the university, Asim added.
Replying to a question about MQM’s General Workers Conventiopn on Friday Bahadurabad , Dr Asim said it has damaged Farooq Sattar but we have invited all factions of MQM to join us and participate in the national level politics. With reference to CJP’s comments on shifting of Nehal Hashmi and Sharjeel Memon from jail to hospitals he said this is good omen. However, the CJP must have seen the cases in their full perspective, he added.
