KARACHI: Senior Pakistan Peoples’ Party leader, former Petroleum Minister and incumbent member of EAC, Dr Asim Hussain has said that better facilities of public transport to commuters and cleanliness of Karachi should be prime on agenda of Sindh government. Talking to The Daily National Courier, he said that it is good omen Sindh government has augmented work on completing Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit System from Orangi Town to Secondary Board Office route. He said, “I am confident administration will also complete other public transport services on different routes in city to cater commuters a better transport facility”.
Dr Asim while expressing his satisfaction over initiating garbage collection services under Sindh Local Government in alliance with Sindh Solid Waste Management Board said that a long standing issue of lifting garbage from District Central and District Korangi has become materialised successfully. He appreciated efforts of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Local Body Minister Nasir Hussain Shah and Barrister Murtaza Wahab, besides DC Central Taha Saleem and Managing Director SSWMB Zubair Ahmed Channa on inauguration of garbage collection and cleaning operation.
‘Hygiene is half of our faith and in this direction this is first step forward and I am sure such services will also be initiated in other districts as well’. Dr Asim applauded vision of Chairman PPP and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on embarking on journey of ‘Now there will be a clean and green Karachi’. Garbage collection operation is also going to be started in Landhi zone.
He lauded Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Saleem by saying he is striving hard to turn Central Karachi into a model District with the presence of all possible civic facilities.
