Karachi: A Sindh High Court division bench adjourned the hearing of bail applications of Dr Asim Hussain former petroleum minister and others in NAB reference No. 13/2016, on Friday. During the hearing of constitutional petition No. 2262 of 2016, Syed Athar Hussain v/s Chairman NAB & others, the bail application was brought before Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto and Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha. The counsel for Dr Asim Hussain, Amir Raza Naqvi Advocate pointed out to the bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto that earlier in December 2015 the learned Judge had refused to hear the case of Dr Asim Hussain, therefore, he should not proceed in this regard this time too. After this argument Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto adjourned hearing of bail pleas. It may be mentioned here that a two member bench of the Sindh High Court headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto on 7.12.2015 had dismissed the application seeking an urgent hearing on the bail application of former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain. The bench had referred the matter to the provincial chief justice to assign it to another bench.
