KARACHI: The National Accountability Court IV recorded the statement of third prosecution witness Amaduddin, Section Officer of Revenue Department, in Dr Asim case yesterday.
The statement continued while the hearing was adjourned for June 8 on request of the NAB lawyer who was asked to produce original record of the case.
Earlier, the witness stated that he was called by a NAB officer on 18 June 2015 to provide the record related to the lands allotted to Dr Asim, on which he had produced the required documents and recorded his statement with NAB on 18th Feb  2016.
The witness presented various documents before the court and the court objected that the documents earlier placed on record were attested photo copies. The court asked the NAB to produce original record of the case not the Photostat copies. On this, the NAB lawyer requested for granting some time for production of the original record and court adjourned the hearing for June 8.
Earlier, during the hearing Dr Asim’s counsel raising an objection said that seizure memo is always considered as final record and additional documents could not be produced, but here it is being violated, the counsel added.
After the hearing, media persons tried to ask various questions from Dr Asim especially about the serious illness of his wife Dr Zareen, who is currently admitted in a London hospital fighting cancer, but he refused to comment on any query.
It may be mentioned here that yesterday Dr Asim Hussain had appealed to all well-wishers and family friends to pray for recovery of Dr Zareen.
