DR ASIM CASE HEARING PUT OFF TILL MARCH 4

KARACHI: The hearing in NAB reference No.13/2016 and reference No.19/2016 (JJVL case) against former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain and others was adjourned till March 4 by Accountability Court IV here yesterday. Due to the illness of NAB prosecutor Mr Altaf both the references could not proceed and was adjourned to March 4. In reference No. 13/2016, the counsel of Dr Asim filed an application wherein he challenged the maintainability of reference and prayed for issuance of show cause notice to the Chairman NAB to appear in person as during trial thousands of documents were concealed by the NAB, 7 witnesses were examined by the court but none of them was implicated in reference. Therefore, he is liable to appear in person and give the answers of all the malafide and manipulation created in the reference.
