National Courier – Why Dr. Asim is detained?

I am highly impressed by the profile of Dr. Asim Hussain. I found in Wikipedia that he has been active in the fields of health, education, and politics. He is Chairman of Ziauddin Group of Hospitals in Karachi, and former Minister for Oil and Natural Resources. He serves as the Chairman of Higher Commission of Sindh. In recognition of his services to the nation in the fields of education and health care he has been conferred with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz. He received his early education from the Karachi Grammar School and later enrolled in the Cadet College, Petaro. He chose to pursue the degree of MBBS. He graduated from Dow Medical College (now, Dow University of Health Sciences) Karachi in 1978 and went to Europe for further studies. He is a member of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (MCPS). He served the Army Medical Corps and then continued his studies in Vienna, Austria. After returning to Pakistan, he joined his parents in the Hospitals. He is the Chairman of the Dr. Ziauddin Group of Hospitals. In 1995, Dr. Asim Hussain established the Ziauddin University, a chartered institution of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh and accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. He has been honorary Personal Physician to the President of Pakistan. Advisor/Federal Minister Petroleum & Natural Resource. Advisor to the Prime Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources/ Federal Minister. Chairman, National Reconstruction Bureau with the status of Federal Minister. On the 27th of August 2015 Asim Hussain was detained by the Authorities in an ongoing operation within the city of Karachi launched by the Rangers and still under arrest. I am unable to understand that why such a learned person is being detained since last more than one year without proving any guilt against him. – Sirajul Hasan, Lahore
