KARACHI: Close aide of Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan People’s Party’s Karachi Division President Dr Asim Hussain left for London from Jinnah International Airport here yesterday. Speaking to media before his departure, he said Pakistan is his home and he will return shortly. The PPP leader, who is out on bail in two cases recently managed to get his name removed from the Exit Control List (ECL). Dr Asim had approached the Supreme Court to be allowed to travel abroad for medical treatment. According to a report, Dr Asim, was accompanied at the airport by his mother, daughter and son-in-law. However, it is unsure if any family members travelled with him. On August 29, The Supreme Court (SC) directed the authorities concerned to remove Dr Asim Hussain’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) so that he can travel abroad for a month to get medical treatment. In March, the SHC had granted bail to Asim in two references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and on the same day, an anti-terrorism court issued a release order for the former federal minister.
