NA panel orders probe into Dr Asim’s leaked video

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee has ordered investigation into Dr. Asim’s leaked video case filmed during his detention while Sindh’s Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) was ordered to investigate as to how the video got leaked and reached media instead of court.  Along with the police, Sindh government had also been ordered to investigate the case by the committee while Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) also presented the list of TV channels that aired the video. In a session convened by Committee Convener MNA Imran Zafar Laghari, PEMRA officials told him that 20 TV channels broadcasted the leaked video. The committee also called on he AIGP and directed him to investigate and submit the report in 10 days. The sub-committee praised the very initiative taken by PEMRA officials and stated that equitable practices regarding TV channels should be improved.
