Lawyer declares NAB record as fake

By Staff Reporter

KARACHI: Dr Asim Hussain while talking to media yesterday said Darbar-e-Lahore resorts to political victimization again, and warned that their turn will also come and they may be put behind the bars in false cases.
He was replying to various questions from media after hearing of his case at NAB court.
To another question Dr Asim said that NAB appears to be a militant wing of Chaudhry Nisar.
Earlier, Dr Asim’s lawyer challenged the veracity of the documents presented by NAB in his case on Wednesday. The NAB claimed that it had seized the record of Sindh Board of Revenue from Section Officer Amaduddin on 2nd October 2015 while the seizure memo was showing the signature of the witness Amaduddin dated 18th February 2016. In addition to this there was no official stamp of the department on this document.
The National Accountability Court IV resumed the hearing of third prosecution witness Amaduddin, Section Officer of Revenue Department in Dr Asim case on Wednesday when the defence lawyer for Dr Asim challenged the authenticity of documents presented by NAB on the court record. The court fixed next date of hearing as 13th June 2016.
On previous date the NAB lawyer was asked to produce original record of the case. The witness had stated that he was called by a NAB officer on 18 June 2015 to provide the record related to the lands allotted to Dr Asim. And he had produced the required documents and recorded his statement with NAB on 18th February 2016.
Although the seizure memo is dated 2nd October.
Dr Asim’s lawyer challenged various documents before the court and objected that the documents presented lacked the name and seal of the responsible authorities. Dr Asim’s counsel raising an objection said that seizure memo is always considered as final record and additional documents could not be produced, but here it is being violated, the counsel added.
