KARACHI: Former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain has called for independence of the institutions in the country. He was replying to the queries rby media members yesterday after hearing of his case by Anti Terrorism Court. The court adjourned the hearing for Aug 20. Talking to media Dr Asim Hussain referred to the national Independence Day and commented that until independence of the national institutions, the country cannot be called independent. We must give liberty to our national institutions to work independently and honestly. Otherwise we would remain a slave nation, he said. He further stated that no doubt we live in an independent country but practically we are still not independent. Certain orders are imposed from outside the national institutions, which is unfair, Dr Asim added.
