Court orders medical facilities to Dr Asim

KARACHI: An Anti-terrorism court, Karachi while hearing the case against former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain, yesterday again issued non-bailable arrest warrants for four accused including Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader and nominee for Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar, Saleem Shehzad, Anees Qaimkhani and Qadir Patel.

Former minister for petroleum was presented before the ATC yesterday, where the investigation officer submitted report pertaining to the arrest of fugitives in the case.

It said accused Usman Moazzam has been apprehended while efforts were being made to bring to book four others.
During yesterday’s proceeding,Dr Asim’s counsel prayed for shifting his client to a private hospital for medical treatment.

The court directed the authorities concerned to provide medical facilities to Dr Asim, and adjourned the hearing till January 19.

Meanwhile, the court also extended pre-arrest bail of MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui till January 19.
